Interview

What has been your inspiration for the EASTPAK Artist Studio Bag(s)?
In this project I let colors guide me. I wanted to have an urban look and feel, with light colors and Pop-style.
As the center of this project is the bag, I used it as a metaphor for emotional issues and craving that we’re carrying with us everywhere. I liked as well the message behind the androgenic character that leaves room for personal interpretation.

Which city do you live in – can you tell us what it’s best kept secret is?
I live in Tel Aviv. This city is a crazy mixed child of a Mediterranean father and a European mother (like most of its origin-colorful residents ). This city is eclectic, urban, exciting and kicking.

When was the last time you did something for the first time?
Sports and me is like mixing chocolate with pickles. BUT – yesterday I watched a football game with a friend of mine and I managed to drift to it for the first time. Of course that the fact that Christiano Ronaldo is a hunk contributed to that.

Can you name three major things on your ‘bucketlist’ – three things you want to do before you ‘kick the bucket’…
Travel around the world.
To be constantly surrounded by good people, supporting and loving, that make my life richer.
To create art, life, to leave a mark.

The proceeds from the sales of your bag will go entirely to Designers Against AIDS – What are your views on safe sex? Do you personally think it’s still important?
I think that the AIDS issue is very important – especially because in our country it is not enough on the agenda. It is very important to raise the awareness for safe sex on a regular basis, so it will be embedded in people’s mind all the time.
