Selim Baklacı was born in Switzerland in 1986. His first fashion education was at Rüstü Uzel College’s Ready-to-Wear department (1999-2003) before graduating from the Mimar Sinan Academy of Fine Arts with a major in Textiles (2004-2006). He had an award for “Project Runway” in Turkey in 2007 and presented his first solo collection in the same year entitled “Arrogance”, the closing show of the Istanbul Fashion Fair. Selim Baklacı now teaches Creative Draped lessons at the Istanbul Fashion Academy. He also works for the Turkish brands Balizza, Atalar and Passo as a consultant.
