What has been your inspiration for the EASTPAK Artist Studio Bag(s)?
I bought some fabrics in China which are the ones they use for marrying, with dragons and birds. Beginning with those I developed an idea for each backpack, they are the three primary colours and what I associated with each one. The yellow, which is the colour that I like the most since having known it, represents light and life in general. The red represents love.
And the blue is sky, which is outside our reach.
Which city do you live in – can you tell us what it’s best kept secret is?
Madrid. It has the sea, but it’s so hidden you can’t even smell it.
When was the last time you did something for the first time?
I continually do things for the first time, especially things that have been renounced before, such as being a little bit hippy.
Can you name three major things on your ‘bucketlist’ – three things you want to do before you ‘kick the bucket’…
I will only say one: to be happy every day.
The proceeds from the sales of your bag will go entirely to Designers Against AIDS – What are your views on safe sex? Do you personally think it’s still important?
Safe Sex of course. Since we were young they spoke to us a lot about AIDS and now it seems like it only exists in Africa, but it’s not like that, there are a lot of people who have it, it’s not a disease of the 80s.
