Bio

Murdock

Murdock has been synonymous with drum&bass in Belgium for over a decade and a half. After running the national radio show Jungle Fever for 4 years straight, Murdock has earned the number one spot for most popular Monthly Playground Mix and recently returned to his own show called “Murdock”, dropping the very best in dubstep and drum & bass (and beyond!) every Friday night from 11pm to midnight on Studio Brussel. Murdock has released 2 mix CDs and was the impetus behind the launch of Radar Records and more recently, the new label Broken Music. Murdock spends time in the studio with the likes of Netsky and Atmospherix when he’s not playing festivals like Pukkelpop, Dour or Laundry Day, or wrecking stages at his own events like Rampage, Belgium’s biggest drum&bass and dubstep night.

Interview

What has been your inspiration for the EASTPAK Artist Studio Bag(s)?
Skateboarding, Public Enemey and the designs by Uber And Kosher.

Which city do you live in – can you tell us what it’s best kept secret is?
Antwerp - Beef stew at Arme Duivel.

When was the last time you did something for the first time?
I dj'ed while strippers were taking it all off on the pole right behind me. That was a first and happened two days ago.

Can you name three major things on your ‘bucketlist’ – three things you want to do before you ‘kick the bucket’…
Put out the best possible home-grown talent through my labels Radar and Broken
Celebrate 20 years behind the decks
Feel satisfied

The proceeds from the sales of your bag will go entirely to Designers Against AIDS – What are your views on safe sex? Do you personally think it’s still important?
Since we all think it's less important, that is exactly why it is so much more important these days. On top of that, young people are much more promiscuous than they used to be.
