Interview

What has been your inspiration for the EASTPAK Artist Studio Bag(s)?
I have made three different versions of the bag.
In the first artwork the backpack is seen as a raw material to split and then turned in something else.
In the second artwork I have added new material to the shape of the backpack to give it a different meaning.
The third one is a surprise…

Which city do you live in – can you tell us what it’s best kept secret is?
From my point of view the city is just a space where you can meet entities. In Milan, as a metropolis, for me it’s easy to found what I need in the right moment I need it.

When was the last time you did something for the first time?
It’s always the first time for an artist!

Can you name three major things on your ‘bucketlist’ – three things you want to do before you ‘kick the bucket’…
Give me to the dark side of my mind.
Create a sculpture in the central square of my city, maybe in bronze.
Have two children, better if twins.

The proceeds from the sales of your bag will go entirely to Designers Against AIDS – What are your views on safe sex? Do you personally think it’s still important?
Since we all think it's less important, that is exactly why it is so much more important these days. On top of that, young people are much more promiscuous than they used to be.
