Bio

Francois d’Humières

Born in 1972 in France, François d’Humières first discovered graffiti on a visit to England at the age of 14 before applying his own signature (Colby) style to various locations in his home town of Paris, with his accomplices Sirius 156, Zoopsee KTA, and Corto. Since those early days, François has participated in various projects including an exhibition at Gallery NM in Paris in 2010 featuring a series of painted aircraft wings. Whether it be metro windows or canvas, François’ desire to paint is insatiable.

Interview

What has been your inspiration for the EASTPAK Artist Studio Bag(s)?
I feel my inspiration on nooks and crannies of these bags.

Which city do you live in – can you tell us what it’s best kept secret is?
Under Paris, the underground Paris, there are some well kept secrets, the history is not cleared... KTA of course.

When was the last time you did something for the first time?
This with my wife... NO, it was the painting on the EASTPAK bags.

Can you name three major things on your ‘bucketlist’ – three things you want to do before you ‘kick the bucket’…
To live
To see life
Dive head on the beach in Australia

The proceeds from the sales of your bag will go entirely to Designers Against AIDS – What are your views on safe sex? Do you personally think it’s still important?
Safe sex is the only way to avoid the worst, and I think and hope, it entered the morals. To be associated with this project is a beautiful thing.
