What has been your inspiration for the EASTPAK Artist Studio Bag(s)?
Eastpak bags are ready to personalize by whoever gets one. I pushed forward that characteristic, deconstructed the bags and created a hybrid pak. They can be transformed by separating pockets or hoodie, and as with the original bag you can express on it whatevers on your mind. Except with the hybrib bags you’re always free to change your mind – write and erase it like a chalboard.
Which city do you live in – can you tell us what it’s best kept secret is?
Currently Milan. I am totally in love with all the flea markets and vintage stores here and for the past 6 months since I arrived I have been discovering new hidden spots and significantly overloading my closet.
When was the last time you did something for the first time?
I changed places I stay countless of times in the past few years, so it’s hard to keep a track of the things I did and where.
But right now this surely is my first ever interview.
Can you name three major things on your ‘bucketlist’ – three things you want to do before you ‘kick the bucket’…
Travel around the world – see Costa Ricas rainforrest, go with Trans-Siberian railway from Russia to China, dive in Austrlia's reef – and a whole bunch of other things in a whole bunch of other places
Heli drop snowboard in Alaska
Settle down in a perfect spot
The proceeds from the sales of your bag will go entirely to Designers Against AIDS – What are your views on safe sex? Do you personally think it’s still important?
Absolutely – in the past, now and always. And it’s equally important to discuss it and to educate about it. Researchers keep looking for a cure for AIDS, but another way to fight it is an open public conversation everywhere– it should never be taboo, unimportant.
