Bio

Comte d‘Urgell

Comte d’Urgell is an art collective that eats, drinks and breathes art for the people without half measures. Without a single fine arts degree between them, their work is based more on entertainment than on subsistence. They have commissioned numerous exhibitions, designed visuals for musicians, clubs and even for themselves, made two TV appearances and can even boast the invention of the underwear MIDI.

Interview

What has been your inspiration for the EASTPAK Artist Studio Bag(s)?
The artwork for the album Ayrton Senna by the band Delorean.

Which city do you live in – can you tell us what it’s best kept secret is?
Barcelona. Making the whole world believe that it’s the city of design when it isn’t…

When was the last time you did something for the first time?
This week we rode in a limousine for the first time!

Can you name three major things on your ‘bucketlist’ – three things you want to do before you ‘kick the bucket’…
See the Northern Lights, swim in a frozen lake in Finland and see a group of glow-worms in a forest at night.

The proceeds from the sales of your bag will go entirely to Designers Against AIDS – What are your views on safe sex? Do you personally think it’s still important?
Definitely. I think the sexual education in Spanish schools is more of a joke than a serious project.
