What has been your inspiration for the EASTPAK Artist Studio Bag(s)?
The idea was to create a unique piece without forgetting about “usability”, my intention is for the person who buys the backpack to be able to use it if they want to. But I used a technique very characteristic of my studio, watercolour marks, to create an all-over background print. Once I had all the marks arranged in a nice composition I added an illustration of a panda bear which I think goes perfectly with the style. I wanted to use a mix of attractive colours but ones which I could easily add the details of the illustration to.
Which city do you live in – can you tell us what it’s best kept secret is?
Barcelona. I keep discovering more secrets of my city, I don’t think there is only one. There’s always something that’s new for me.
When was the last time you did something for the first time?
Well for the first and hopefully last time in my life, a few months ago I asked my partner to marry me.
Can you name three major things on your ‘bucketlist’ – three things you want to do before you ‘kick the bucket’…
What I want to do before I die is to have children, go on a surfari with my friends and above all continue being as happy as I am now.
The proceeds from the sales of your bag will go entirely to Designers Against AIDS – What are your views on safe sex? Do you personally think it’s still important?
Safe Sex is always going to be important, I’m completely in favour of it.
