Andy Fluon

Andy was born in 1971 in Monza, the location of the headquarters and creative nucleus he calls FluOn. He applies his vivid style as a painter to a great variety of projects including design objects, fabrics and even musical instruments. His international renown has come on the back of several solo exhibitions which have in turn lead to work with a plethora of multinational brands such as Coveri, Carlsberg, Iceberg, Redbull and Fiat. Andy is also an eclectic musician and co-founder of the band “Bluvertigo” in the early 90s where he has written numerous songs and played saxophone, synths, keyboards and background vocals on all three of the band’s albums. He’s still very active in the music business and regularly composes soundtracks, produces new bands and presents music shows on national TV and radio.

What has been your inspiration for the EASTPAK Artist Studio Bag(s)?
My mind is always full of images, and when I saw the plain white bag it was an immediate reaction.

Which city do you live in – can you tell us what it’s best kept secret is?
My city is Monza..We hold no secrets, but we have a great history..

When was the last time you did something for the first time?
Six months ago I had a rebirth meditation experience.

Can you name three major things on your ‘bucketlist’ – three things you want to realize before you ‘kick the bucket’…
1 - I'd like to have a psychedelic experience with magic mushroom and shaman.
2 - I'd like to paraglide over the Egyptian Piramids.
3 - Hugging David Bowie..

The proceeds from the sales of your bag will go entirely to Designers Against AIDS – What are your views on safe sex? Do you personally think it’s still important?
I lost one of my best friends in 1997 because of the HIV virus, it's very important far all,
and the catholic church should be ashamed..
